So it has been a while since I have been on, but it has been for very good reasons. Life has just been just plain crazy since before Memorial day. During Memorial weekend Dave and I went out of town with his parents. We went to Vernal for the Walker reunion. Yes Dave is from California, But his ancestors settled Pleasant Grove and due to some sort of land dispute his Great grandpa or great great (can't remember oops)moved his family out to Vernal. Lots of his dads aunts and family stayed out there. So they do the reunion every memorial day and go out to the graves.
It was lots of fun. Dave's parents were great to us. they paid for our hotel room and all of our meals. Our hotel room had a play ground on it. So Dave and I once in a while took Kimball out there to play on it.
On Mon. We all went to the grave yard. It was fun to sere family and they were all very loving and welcoming. It was neat to see his great grandpa and grandma's grave and hear some history. After the graves I went shooting with Dave, his dad and some of his dad's cousins. It was great fun. below are pictures from the grave yard. I am sad I didn't think to take pictures at other events.
The week after memorial weekend I started preparing to go out of town for two weeks with Dave's mom and his sister Kristen. We went to Arizona and Nevada. We left on a Mon. and drove to Vegas and stayed one night at his sister Kim's house. The following morning we drove to Arizona. His sister Michelle, her husband and oldest son Evan were leaving on a Pioneer Trek Wed. afternoon. We went to watch their youngest Parker (He is 3 years old). We watched Parker until Sat. evening. That was crazy cause he and Kimball constantly fought over toys and sippy cups. The three of us were about to go crazy. Kimball also picked back up his screaming habit. Not fun. It is ear piercing. When his sister and the gang came back on Sat it was Evans B-day so we had a party waiting for him. Sun. we went to church and had a very nice dinner. On Mon. Michelle and Kristen took me shopping. Man those girls can shop. It was fun. It was fun to get to know my sister-in-laws a little better. Hopefully I didn't get on their nerves. Mean while the fighting between Kimball and Parker went on the entire time. By the time we left on Tues. Michelle and her family I am sure were happy to see us go and get their house back to normal.:)
Tues we drove another full day back to Las Vegas to spend some time with Kim and her family. I think that Kimball was happy to be able to play with what he wanted. His screaming however, continued to drive us all insane. Wed. we all swam and Kimball was loving the pool. He loved getting in and out and throwing things in the water. He cried when we had to go in. We got in several times and it was great fun. On Thurs we went shopping at some out let stores.it was fun and I spent too much money. I wasn't the only one that spent too much money. Dave's mom went crazy with purses. The credit card company called Dave's dad and he called to talk to his wife that evening. On Friday we went to the Indiana Jones movie. It was good, but definitely not my favorite. Sat is the day we left. It was the 14Th by that time. It is always sad to say good buy to family, but it is also good to come home. I just want to say thanks for Kristen and Dave's mom for putting up with me and Kimball and for Kim, Michelle and their families for their wonderful hospitality. They are both wonderful hosts. It was a good getaway trip for me, even though my baby wore me out. :)
The week after we got home I was put to work by many. I was in charge on an Enrichment class on Natural disasters. It was good to do, but kept me busy. It also made me realize just how unprepared we are. We also had our Stake picnic that weekend. I had to make salads for it, serve at it and practice a song I had to sing barbershop style. the ladies I sung with were great and patient with me. It took me a while to get my part down. When it came down to it I think it sounded OK. It was fun.
This last Sat. we had the Pinegar reunion. That is my Grandma Andrus' side. It was fun to see family and meet people I didn't know. Everyone brought lunch for their families and everyone visited. It was held at my mom's Aunt Elaine's house in Springville.
After lunch we went to one of their neighbor's house. He had a mini zoo. There were
kangaroos, sheep from Finland, ostriches, lamas, some sort of Mt. Goat, turkeys, swans and all sorts of birds, and a fish pond. All of the kids had great fun. They were able to go inside and pet the animals. Sheri was watching Hollie's boys and they came a little later. they were able to say hi to grandma Andrus and we drove them by the little zoo, but the tour was over so they had to look from the fence. After that we all went home. Dave watched Kimball and I helped Sheri with the boys. They are so cute. It was fun to play with them. They are good kids.
Well life has been crazy and continues to be but I love it. Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged. I hope everyone has been doing well. hopefully I will be a little better at blogging.
