I know I haven't blogged in like 2 or 3 weeks. I am still alive, but things have been crazy. Who knew that being a primary teacher would keep me so busy. I teach all of the 6 year old to the 8 year olds. I am lucky enough to be able to participate in their baptisms.
K so you all know a couple weeks ago we went to Moab. So my manual was at my subs house. I no longer have a team teacher at the moment so I always have to find a sub. I didn't get my manual back until Friday. I was then asked to speak at a baptism last Friday. I thought that was OK I would prepare my baptism talk on Friday and then my primary lesson on Sat. my mom called and asked if after the baptism I could help my brother Matt move and help move some stuff for her as well. I said sure and thought I would just do my lesson after that. After the baptism the primary President came up to me and let me know I have sharing time this Sun. I thought to myself (CRAP!). OK I can do this. I didn't get home until 8 that evening to start working on my Sharing time lesson! Yikes! In the Sharing time manual it just gave a theme and no ideas. The Theme was The Prophet Tells Me What to do so I can Return to Live with God (D & C 1:37-38). Luckily the thought of a game popped in my head. My sister Sheri drew the castle on the poster board for me and I drew the rest and in the morning Sheri helped me color. I pulled various quotes from prophets and apostles. I made up cards telling me what quote to read or telling a story of a child not following the prophet. If they followed the counsel they could move closer to the Celestial Kingdom if not they moved back a space. It was fun but a lot of work it took me all night and all morning to do it all. I couldn't have done it without Sheri. Unfortunately I had to prepare my class lesson during sacrament meeting. Wow! I am glad that is over.
For some reason or other I always use a poster board. This slide shows the three that I still have. I am sure the presidency every time I do sharing time think another poster game what a surprise. They have always said I did a good job so maybe I am just being self conscious. I guess I feel I am not all that creative. Oh, well it seems to keep the kids occupied. :)
I just had to share this slide show. Kimball has now taken an interest in brooms. He loves to "help" me. Isn't he cute.
Today I had to run to the grocery store and I decided to get watermelon. Around lunch time Kimball and I ate outside so we wouldn't make such a mess in the house. As you can tell he loved it. It was so fun to share that new experience with him. yes, it is his first watermelon. maybe not real first, but it was fun none the less.
K that was a long post. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I will try and do better. Another reason I haven't been on is that I took the advice of our prophet and decided I would try a couple times a week to take time for myself. I have been playing on the piano and finally finished my first song. I have been trying to record it perfectly cause a guy in our ward said he could transpose it for me. Yeah! I am excited about that. I unfortunately can only record one song at a time on my piano so I have to work on them one at a time. Oh, well I am grateful for our little digital piano. My husband it too good to me.:) Maybe if I get brave enough I will put it on my blog for you to hear.

Wow, good job with all the primary stuff. And the watermelon looks SO good. How fun! That is so awesome you are writing a song. I had no idea you were so talented in that area. You should post it!
Dude, that primary lesson is way cool. You are very creative. I hate coming up with that stuff.
alcia-Thanks. I might post it we will see how confident I am about it. It is just a piano song.
kristen-Thanks! Yeah I sometimes just hate thinking of a way to get the message accross and keep the kids attention.
Annie, this was totally worth the wait. I am so impressed...you have been busy. I may have to borrow those posters someday! I can't wait to hear your song-don't you dare be shy, you are so talented!
Thanks Hollie:) You are always welcome to borrow my posters, but I know that you are supper creative yourself.
Did you figure out a name for your song? It is so amazing!! Good luck on recording it!?! So now that I have a gym pass, we need to set a schedule =0) YEAH!!
