I am Going to try going Public
I was reading my two sister-in-law's blogs and both of them are thinking about going public. I thought I would try it and see if any more people besides (mostly) them reply. I know others visit my blog, but never say anything and I need a little more interaction. Don't get me wrong I love that people come and check how things are going but I just love a good discusion. The only person lately who will have one with me, via the phone, is my cousin Tammy (which is greatly appreciated). So I thought I would share my views, ideas, and life with others. Kristen, Christine do you guys have any tips for me on going public?

Just be careful. Don't put any personal info (obviously). When referring to people in your posts, be careful who you name. I always made it a point not to use names unless they had a blog or something.
Also, if you do go public, would you change my name on the sidebar to have only my first name?
I'm itching a little to go public again, but I'm still nervous about it due to the psycho stalker experience. I still have to think everything through.
I will change your name right now. Thanks for the info. Should I get a different blog since I have our names and what not on it?
I don't know if that's necessary; but it's up to you. I know many who use their family name and they are fine with it. For me personally, I wouldn't....but I also like to stir things up and talk about controversial topics. And even though I thought I was kinda safe w/o using a last name, some jerk-off still found me.
Bottom line: If you're going to keep your blog geared toward your family, you should be ok. I know Christine made her family blog private for a reason--as her kids are getting older, she doesn't want anything incriminating/embarrassing for them on the net. (But she can tell you more about her decision).
I think Kristen's covered it all. If you go public, I would take off any identifying information. Since you use your first name, you have your last name in the title and you talk about living in Utah, it wouldn't be too hard to track you guys down if someone wanted to. Good luck!
