Kimball Collage

So being the procrastinator I am I decided to post a collage of what Kimball and our family has been up to.

First up we have our Baby prodigy video for you .

We watched a kindergarten kid play the piano on an e-mail a friend sent me this morning. Kimball got inspired to play along with him. We have a button you Punch and it plays a song but only as you play. You can make it look like you really are playing. Anyway we thought he looked real cute playing his Twinkle Twinkle Little star song.

Last Weekend Baby Koy was blessed. Mike introduced us to a yummy Mexican restaurant. We stayed in a hotel and went to the Church that morning. Unfortunately I have no pics to show for it. :( Our battery once again was dead. Anyway the luncheon was beautiful. It was so fun to get together with family. Dave decided to have us stay one more night in the hotel since we were there already. So Mon morning we went to a little park/zoo. It was only a dollar for adults and fifty cents for kids. Now that is our kind of family activity. Kimball was in heaven. We had a blast. then my sweet sister-in-law called and took us to lunch at their favorite pizza place. It was delicious. Then she said she had a bunch of extra Cars stuff to give us. Kimball has been playing with them everyday. Mike and Hollie really are too good to us.

Next up we have a slide show of Kimball hitting up the bottle.

We had some sparkling Cider with our dinner the other night and when it was gone he kept trying to drink out of it or have me put some water in it. Boy did he have fun with it. He cracks me up.

The Zoo

We took Kimball to the Zoo for the first time several weekends ago. He was a hoot to watch. For quite some time all he wanted was to play in every one's water. He threw his hat into the giraffe and Dave hopped the fence to get it. I must say it was a little disappointing cause the Zebras were gone along with other animals and all of the cats were asleep in their cave. No tiger, leopard nothing. Kimball's favorite was the small animal exhibit. He ran from one window to the next. He also loved the lame train ride. :) Does anyone else swear there was a hippo at one time there? Anyway it was fun.

The Pool

One or two Sat ago my cousin Tammy and I got together at our my place. We just bought Kimball a pool for the summer and the kids went swimming. they had so much fun. Tammy and I were just laughing cause they were all freezing but did not want to get out. It was a hoot. I tell ya this pool is already paying for itself and definitely will when it gets hotter.

My guys in Bow Ties

One Sunday we could not find Kimball his tie so Dave busted out his old bow ties. He loved sporting a bow tie with his kid. Don't my guys look handsome?

Catch Up!

Goodness we have been up to lots since Easter! I am getting really bad at keeping up on computer stuff of any type. I logged on to my e-mail today and had like a hundred e-mails. Yikes! So since Easter we have gone to Moab, had mother's day, had a beautiful addition to our family, and a lot a lot a lot of yard work.

Lets start with our newest addition to the family. Koy Tanner was born On April 16th to my Brother Mike and his lovely wife Hollie. We were gonna visit them in the hospital but they did not allow kids int he rooms at the hospital in Logan. Which in many ways I am sure was nice. So the sat after he was born our family went up to see him. He is soooo...cute and definitely belongs to Mike and Hollies beautiful family. They were way too gracious. We were planning to bring them dinner/lunch, but they and Hollies sweat mom made us a bar-b-q. It was so fun too visit with them. they are an amazing little family.

Next on my catch up agenda is that we went to Moab. It was pretty fun. Pretty much every one's vehicle broke down at one point of the trip. It is really quite funny now that I think about it. I must admit that our trip last year was more fun cause we stayed more days and did not try to jam everything into two days and really only one full day. We arrived Thursday evening and later had a bar-b-q and Janean's condo. Then Joe Sheri and I went swimming. On Friday we went to Gemini Bridges again. It was amazing. We were going to go under the bridges, but before we got there we stopped for lunch and it was hot and the kids were ready to leave. So we gave it up and went home. We went swimming later. There was a car parade that night cause the car show was the next day. So Dave and I went and cruised in it. it was fun. Then Sat. we went to the car show and we were gonna go to the arches on our way out, but it got too stormy. :( Oh, well next time. And next time we will stay more days.

Mothers Day was wonderful. Dave got up with Kimball that morning and made me breakfast. He also did the dishes and straightened up the house a little bit. He is so sweat. Then everyone went over to my mom's for dinner. Even Mike and Hollie made there long two hour drive to come down. That was awesome and sweet of them especially since they have that new little baby. Janean and her family was there, Joe was there, and Sheri and her little family was there. Matt was not there cause the sucker went to work in Baltimore for the summer. :) Later on we went to Dave's parents and had dinner. It was nice. Kimball loved seeing grandma, grandpa and aunt Kristin.

Last but not least we have been doing lots of yard work around the apartments. I really had no idea how much work goes into getting the property ready for summer. One day we ripped out or trimmed most of the bushes. We still have to the ones by the fence. Of course there is mowing and edging, but we had to dig out the sprinklers and cut grass away so they could spray properly and now we need to fix about five heads and dig two up to see why they are puddling up so much. We dug up all the weeds and mulched the ground. The next day we went and bought all of the flowers and the next we planted them. Hopefully from here on out it will just me maintaining what we have done.

Easter

Happy Easter Everyone. I hope everyone had a nice Easter. On Sat. We went to my sisters to do an egg hunt and celebrate her and my brother's birthday. It was a lot of fun. On Sunday Kimball got to wear his new suit. Later we went to Dave's parents and had dinner. We did a small egg hunt in the basement there too.

I t was great, but my favorite things was Testimony meeting. There were so many testimonies that were so good. One in particular stood out in my mind. It was given by one of my friends. She talked about a young man making mistakes during the sacrament prayer. He made it a second, and third time. The bishop stood up after and said that when he got it right it was as if he said it right the very first time. I am so grateful for all that Heavenly Father has done to make it possible for us to make up for our mistakes.

He's A Natural

A while ago we went down to my Aunt Hollie's house and her son Jacob has an electric drum set. He let Kimball play with it. He was in heaven. Kimball did not want to give it up and when it was his cousins turn to try he kept trying to push him off. The little stinker. ;) I wish I could afford to get him something like this. he was a natural. He tried to play everything he could reach. It is so fun to watch him grow up. It will be interesting to see what his hobbies will be when he is older.

Help

I Do Not understand how people let their cleaning go for so long that it is actually impossible to get anything clean. We are getting an apartment ready for some new tenants to move in. When I looked at the bath tub it looked like someone washed off a bum and let the dirt sit there for years. I have cleaned this tub with Kaboom, with Vinegar, and with Lime away. The tub looks a lot better but the front of the tub just stays rough and gross looking. The water and dirt sat there for so long it feels like sad paper. I scrubbed that thing for two hours last night and went at it three other times today and still nothing. If anyone has any other ideas to try I am all ears!

Road Trip

My sister Sheri and I decided to go on another road trip to St. George to visit my dad and his wife Kathryn. We had a lot of fun and Kimball absolutely loved his grandpa. The other grand kids call him papa T so Kimball calls him Potty T. :) We left Thurs afternoon and hung out that evening. Friday, We spent the day with my dad. He took us to what we call Crystal canyon. I think it is Gypsum, but I am not sure (it is whatever they make drywall from). Anyway, Kimball was in heaven. He was having a blast throwing rocks, rolling around in the dirt, and looking at all of the shiny rocks. We were there a good while then went and picked up Kathryn from work. We went to her daughter Alicia's. It was nice to see her again. On Saturday we went to breakfast, and then to the park. Kimball had a blast there. Kathryn's granddaughter, McKenzie came with us. She loved Kimball and I think Kimball developed his first crush. Later we hung out and watched phsyc. Kenzie slept over too. Sun. Morning She and Kimball played on the couch. this was the first time he ever stayed still and posed for pictures. They were so cute. Then he wrestled with papa T. shortly after our journey came to an end. We had a lot of fun. We are very glad that we went.

Quite a Character

Kimball is so much fun. He does things every day that just crack me and David up. The other day he just walks into the living room like nothing was different with a hat on his head that was clearly too small. He is soooo cute! He then went back again and again until he tried on all of his hats big or small. It is so fun to see his personality grow every day. He is quite the character, just like his daddy. :)

Restless

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and just can't seem to go back to sleep? (Your mind is overwhelmed with so many thoughts that you just can't seem to relax) Kimball woke up around three with a dry cough. i gave him some medicine and sang him back to sleep. just before that I was having all sorts of weird dreams. So when I got into bed I thought about my dreams then one thought led to another, then another. Finally I got out of bed. Tried playing the piano for a while....still not sleepy. Then I tried reading my e-mails, and that is what led me to here. I thought about cleaning or organizing our files, but I was too afraid of waking my family. Hmmm....my next option is I guess I could read.

I really feel bad for those people who have sleep apnea and go through this every night.

Being Aware

So yesterday evening we had a visit by the missionaries. They sat down to show us a video on YouTube aboutthe government working toward a one world government. After visiting with them and watching the video Dave and I decided to e-mail it to some friends and family. Several of you who visited my blog probably got the e-mail. I want to start off by saying that I really don't know if everything about it is true. I do however, feel that there was at least some truth to it.

There are many today who would like to pretend that everything is hunky dory in our country. There are many people of the church who believe this as well. This I find interesting especially since it is revelation that our constitution and country will hang by a thread at the time of the second coming. So I myself take that as though we need to be prepared for anything and everything.

I don't consider myself a conspiracy theorist but I am leary about many things going on in our country today. So I think that part of watching for the signs of the times is being up to date on everything on both sides of the spectrum. I am just saying be aware of things don't be too quick to shut them down until you have thought, pondered and prayed. After all, the most important relationship we can have during these hard times is with our Heavenly Father, our Savior Jesus Christ, and our families. Oh, and a side note; Don't dwell on it, just be aware so you know what to watch for.

My Eyes Have Been Opened!

I know I have been really bad at this blogging thing and have been fired many times (good thing it is not a job), but I really feel like things have been crazy. Loved my holidays with the family. Being with Dave's family was the best. It was great having everyone in town. I must share some things that have opened my eyes lately.

I have always considered myself a pretty nice person. I remembered when I first married Dave that I absolutely worshiped the ground he walked on. As the years went by I started pointing out things that he was not doing for me. It did not help being around a bunch of women who did the same. I started griping and whining about things that I was not getting from him that I thought I should get. Getting more frustrated by not seeing results with "nagging him" if you will, I started becoming an angry wife. The more I tried to change him the more I would get frustrated.

So this Christmas holiday I was having a lovely conversation about husbands with my dear sister-in-law. You know who you are and I hope you don't mind me sharing. She smiled as she listened to me and then she told me that she and her spouse were having the same problem. Then one day she realized that she made everything his fault, that she was not fessing up to her problems. She decided she really needed to look at herself and change herself. After all we are the only person we can change. Thank you very much. I realized that I needed to do the same.

So weeks went by and it seemed so hard. But then last week my sister let me borrow a book, don't laugh, "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands." My sister said at first it may make me mad but if I think about it, what she says it true.

Surprisingly I was not mad or irritated. So many of the stories I read I could relate to. Instead I found myself crying realizing just how selfish I have become. I realized how angry I made myself over things that I wanted Dave to do for me that I myself was not doing for him.

One of the stories she told I would like to share, cause I feel it is not only to do with marriage but life in general. A grandfather was talking to his grandson. "Grandson," he said, "there are two wolves living in my heart and they are at war with each other. One is vicious and cruel, the other is wise and kind."
"Grandfather," said the alarmed grandson, "which one will win?"
"The one I feed," said the grandfather.

It may sound corny to you but it made me realize how often I allow myself to get angry about things. The more I talk about how stupid a driver who cuts me off, the more angry I get the next time I am out on the road. The more angry I get about anything in life and dwell on it the more angry I am in life. The more I give out of love, the more happy I am. the more I try to find the positive in a person, the less anger, annoyance, or resentment I feel towards that person.

It is much easier to look for what is wrong with the world and the people in it. It is much harder to look inside yourself and see whats wrong with you and figure how you can fix it. I am not saying that you can not get frustrated by things in life. I am just saying don't dwell on it. Look at what you yourself can change and you will be much happier. It has only been a week and I already am.

I have really tried hard to work on things that I can change in mine and Dave's relationship. I must say that even in just this week things have improved on his end as well. I gave and I received and we are both much happier. There are many quotes I loved in the book that I liked, but can't share them all. Ladies I think it is a must read if you are married. If not i is still good insight to the way women tend to treat men and the way they get treated in return. Hope I did not bore you all, but I wanted to share.
