I Have to Gripe Just a Little

Dave and I moved into the apartment that we live in around 4 1/2 years ago. They aren't the best, but they are not the worst either. To say the least we were happy to have a place of our own and it was cheap rent. They have always included cable with the apartments. Just alst month we were told that now they are going to split the cable bill among the apartments and up the rent by $20. I know that is still not that much, but it does make a difference on our account. When Dave gets his first pay check rent is due and after paying rent we have $20 to live off of until his next pay check. I guess the thing that bugs me the most is that a couple of the apartments have new carpet, new paint, new mirrors ect... They say that if we all want new carpet and such the rent will go up. So we have just lived with it. It just bugs that some of the apartments are nicer and they get to pay the same rent. Not to mention It has taken 4 years for them to repair the hole above out shower. it was there when we moved in. Dave repairs a lot of stuff himself. I fit is expensive we make them re-emberse us. We have a short in our kitchen light for 5 months now and they still have yet to fix it. Don't worry it is just a fire hazard! I gues it kinda peeves me that they include the cable and now want us to pay for it. What if we don't want it?

OK my blog is public so if by chance my managers ever read this I don't blame them at all. I know it is that stupid maintenace guy who is supposed to fix stuff, but blows everyone off.

I also don't want anyone to think that I am not grateful for the apartment that we have to live in. I am grateful to have a roof over our heads. I am grateful we have a place of our own. I guess I just needed to vent for a minute. Am I over reacting? Really you can tell me if I am.

Oh my Heck! That it so annoying! No, you are not overreacting! To say the least, they should give you an option of whether or not you want cable. If they are doing everyone elses carpet, ect. maybe you need to make a little noise to them so they will put you next on the list. What holds greater priority? A fire hazard or comfort? And then them not maintaining your apartment, they are violating their side of the contract. Money is already tight, and to add to the pressure, I totally understand. Best of Wishes! Know that you are incredibly amazing!
